Train Simulator: BR 9F Loco Add-On Activation Code [crack]

Updated: Mar 21, 2020

About This Content Considered by some to be the pinnacle of British steam locomotive design, the Class 9F comes to Train Simulator in British Railways black livery. The Standard Class 2-10-0 locomotive was designed by Robert Riddles for BR and was the last in a series of standardised locomotive classes designed in the 1950s. The Class was originally intended for use on heavy freight trains at fast speeds over long distances; however, it proved extremely capable and versatile, being used on passenger services as well.In total, 251 locomotives were built in the Class, and 92220 Evening Star was the last steam locomotive to be built by BR in 1960.Withdrawals of the Class began in May 1964, although some survived until the end of British steam in 1968. Nine locomotives in the Class survived the scrapyard, with Evening Star now being part of the National Collection in the UK and others either in full working order or in restoration. The 9F for Train Simulator is a former Iron Horse House model, which has been updated to TS2015 standard, including new scenarios and improved exterior modelling. It is available in BR Black livery in both single and double chimney variants with BR1A and BR1D tenders. Also included are 16T mineral wagons and a BR brake van.The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the BR 9F on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the Western Lines of Scotland route (available separately and required to play these scenarios).ScenariosThree scenarios for the Western Lines of Scotland route:Border HeavyweightHeavy Haul to KingmoorMilitary MarchMore scenarios are available on Steam Workshop online and in-game. Train Simulator’s Steam Workshop scenarios are free and easy to download, adding many more hours of exciting gameplay. Good points, visually impressive with interesting scenarios. Bad points, controls seemed somewhat erratic (but never having driven a real one they may be realistic) and the sound seemed 'thin'. However, a few hours pleasure for not much money. If you love trains get it . . . if you prefer killing zombies, best left on the shelf.. This is a very lazy lazy money soaking release from RSC DTG. They have done very little to address the issues with the original IHH model. A few new textures, getting rid of the waving fireman and aligning even worse generic sounds to it then the IHH original including the addition of the very irritating constant high pitch blowing off the safety valve. The 9f is a iconic loco and deserves a better uninterested shabby re release then this, as for DTG customers, this just shows how much respect we are actually afforded by the company, "release any ole Sh*te for the weekend" attitude is very much evident here. No doubt Steam sounds supreme will have to come to the rescue with new decent sound set which might be the saving grace if you have purchased this already. If you haven't, even at a heavy discount it's very disappointing lazy release. Avoid.. DO NOT BUY! very bad model, sound are rubbish. Should be given awa for free, or they should give us money to take the bloody thing. and NO Evening Star!. Downloaded and expected a top class model. Instead, I got a badly modified rendition of the IHH model that left me seriously dissapointed. It comes with Two variants, a single chimney and Double chimney, along with two tender variants, BR1A and BR1G. Yet there is no sign of an Evening Star version or a Crosti boilered version, two of the most well known types of 9f. Harumph. The Sounds are absolutely atrocious. They are the basic european assest sounds for steam locos, so the same as the black five that comes with the base version and still sound awful, as they always have. It completely ruins any feeling of immersion and therefore ruins the loco, so dont buy this expecting amazing sound quality as it is pants.Internally, the cab has been brought up to scratch with brand new textures and a few simple changes to some of the fittings.Externally, the model textures have been updated and in fairness look pretty decent, well weathered to a realistic degree. But two things let it down, one being that you can no longer switch headlamps around to suit the train you are hauling, and the other being that the running gear and wheels are not quarterised. Basically, the valve gear is mirrored and not slightly offset the same as the real locomotive would be, which completley ruins the exterior view for me personally. Every other steam locomotive in train simulator has it offset, so as to why DTG decided to change it I have no idea.Performance wise this loco is very mediocre. It has amazing pulling power at low speeds, and will keep good steam up doing it. But as soon as you start getting up to higher speeds of about 40-50mph, pressure seems to drop drastically along with the pulling power, so if you try to keep going you will more than likely drop to a crawl and then stop. Very annoying indeed. In summary, it feels like DTG put no effort to change the flaws that were evident with the original IHH, and instead put minimum effort into a 'that'll do approach'. The sounds are awful, the external features are okay with the animations and lack of offsetting leading me to giving a resounding meh in this department. Internally the Cab view is pretty nice, but nothing special. And the Performance is rather disappointing for a loco famous for fast heavy freght trains and speeds of up to 90 mph. The lack of an Evening Star version and a Crosti boiler version makes me suspicious that they will be a seperate marketplace add-on of \u00a32 each, even though IHH offered both.Would I recommend this? If youre after a polished, top quality freight engine of the 1950s and 60s, No. Definately not. Unless DTG updates the rather glaring issues with it, which is unlikely. Either get this in a very reduced sale or get yourself the Robinson 04, a freight engine half the price and at least 10x better in almost every respect.. Ive paid for it and its on my profile but the game is not there like the 3 others I have paid for, getting through to steam support is like breaking into the bank of england!. THERE IS NO WORD TO DESCRIBE THIS ADDON IT IS SO BAD THAT I CANT EVER CALL IT BAD STAY AWAY FROM IT IF U DONT WANT TO WAST YOUR MONEY IF YOU WANT SOMETHING BRILIENT FOR YOUR MONEY THEN BUY THE 14XX ADDIN PACK IT REALLY IS YOUR MONEYS WOURTH THE RESON IT WAS BAD IS BECAUSE IT HAS 2 MISSING TEXTURES ON THE WATER SITE GLASS AND HAS THE BLACK 5 DEFALT SOUNDS AND WHISTLE.. I do not reccomend the loco in it's current state, but read on for more information.DTG have taken an IHH model and have done... something... to it. I imagine a quick texture upgrade to make it compatible with the latest version of TS, but other than that it's a mystery to me. I wish DTG would've done better justice to the last steam loco built by BR. PROS:-Good looking, supposedly modernised model, something DTG is getting good at.-Inclusion of a single and double-chimney version, with BR1A and BR1D tenders. 16T mineral wagons and a brake van are also included.-Fun scenarios. I acutally enjoyed a little challenge in them.CONS:-Bad sounds. As usual, DTG fall short of making a two-cylinder, double chinmey beheamoth sound daunting. At high speeds it sounds like a diesel engine running out of fuel, oil, and coolant, all at the same time. Exactly like the European Asset Black 5... Oh wait....-In-cab features need work. The ejector knobs have been modelled, but not animated and used. They just sit there in front of your face in the cab with no purpose other than to look interesting and unimportant. -I can't change the headcode from Fast Freight, whish isn't all bad I suppose, considering that's what the 9F was built for. But when I'm pulling a railtour with Evening Star, I want an Express headcode up front. -Reliance on 3rds parties to fix otherwise correctable issues. there, I said it.SSS have a great sound pack that adds seperate sounds to both the single and double-chimey versions, along with some cool smoke particle effects and a new "dynamic" trillable whistle to replace the standard, repeating, shrieking mess. Steam chest simulation and accurate brakes, among other things are also included. If you're gonna get this mammoth, don't bother unless you intend to get the SSS pack alongside it. This is DTG's way to make a quick pound (or dollar, in my case) with a second-hand model, with no real attention paid to the contents they spewed forth. Rescued from perdition by SSS, it's a great model for the extra money of a 3rd party enhancement. Overall 65%, with SSS pack 80%
